My Morning Skincare Routine

Cetaphil Gentle Skin CleanserSimple Soothing Facial TonerClean Start Welcome Matte Moisturiser
 Hello!

Today's post will be short and sweet as that's exactly what my morning skincare routine is. I don't like to fuss around in the morning as I would really rather that extra ten minutes of sleep, and also, my skin tends to not need such a deep cleanse after my night time routine.

The cleanser I am currently using is Cetaphil's Gentle Skin Cleanser. I love this cleanser for first thing in the morning, it feels so soft and moisturising on my skin. It's a soap free and fragrance free cleanser for sensitive skin, and even though I don't actually have sensitive skin I find it's the perfect cleanser for me in the morning. I really recommend this if you have sensitive and fairly clear skin anyway as I can't imagine this cleanser irritating anyone, but I wouldn't use it at night as I doubt it would get off all my makeup, let alone give me a deep cleanse. It does say it's for dry skin, but I have incredibly dehydrated oily skin, and this product actually works really well for me.

I then use my Simple Soothing Facial Toner on a cotton pad (I'm not fussy which ones, I've never really noticed a difference from changing cotton pads) and just wipe it all over my face. It's really cooling and it feels very fresh, and it's satisfying to look at the cotton pad after you've used it on your face to see if your cleanser did effectively remove all traces of sleep. This is once again for sensitive skin - are we seeing a pattern here? - and I really would recommend this. It's so cheap, it's alcohol free and contains no unnecessary or harsh chemicals. I will definitely be repurchasing this as I'm almost at the end, however I will be trying other, more expensive toners to see if I notice a particular difference.

I then rub the Clean Start Welcome Matte Moisturiser with SPF15 all over my face and neck. I love this moisturiser and the one you see here is actually an empty tube and a new one is on the way to my house right now! It's very lightweight and provides the perfect base for my makeup. It does smell slightly like SPF, however the smell doesn't linger and reminds me of holidays and so I don't mind it at all. It claims to have oil controllers, however I've never really noticed a difference. Unless I use a good powder over my makeup I'm still pretty oily within a few hours. It also contains salicylic acid, but I wouldn't say this moisturiser has helped too much with my breakouts, I would probably put that down to other products.

And that's it! Comment below if you have any recommendations or tips you have for your early morning skincare.

Until next time,

Lauren x
